    Heya,
After a week of very careful dieting i realized that my diet was heavy in sugary chewing gum which has a lot of calories,in it believe it or not!!My weight at one point was 9st 10 too =)

So things are going well, i am back to doing weights and working out.
However i want to know one final thing.
    Am i better off
    A) Eating only 800 cals a day to loose
b)Eating 1400- and burning off 500 or so
C)Cycling between low cal days and exercise days?

I tried having a zero net calorie intake last weekend for 3days and wound up with a lot of body fat this week , stupid me.

So what i really want to know, am i better off cutting back calories in my diet or by burning them off?

Try to strike a happy medium. Under no circumstances eat less than 1200 kcal per day, you'd be starving yourself of essential nutrients. If you're exercising, eat more.

500 kcal seems like a lot to burn every day - what sort of exercise are you doing? I don't really count the calories of the exercise I do because I don't think I can get an accurate figure anyway - I just eat a bit extra that day.

Edit - I just saw your previous thread. You seem slim already - what height are you? And what's your goal?

800 calories is extremely low, and not recommended except under medical supervision.

Generally, you are better off eating the most calories that will allow you to lose fat at a safe rate.

Diet is most effective for weight loss, but exercise determines how you look with your clothes off. There's no point in having a low weight, if you are still afraid to take off your clothes.
