    hi guys,
im fairly handy with rifles but my pistol knowledge isnt what it should be.

a while back the fire selector came off my glock. lost the ball bearing but no biggy, replaced it and all good in the hood.
came off again last week but somehow it took some springs and some sort of pin with it.
they are now somewhere in the mud of the orchard.

anyone had similar issues? any tips for replacing parts?
i was considering doing some hacking and soldering to make it semi only but id like to leave that for a last option.

    thanks in advance

    jim

That's a fairly common issue with the FA glocks, the pin you lost from the back of the slide is what actually holds the fire selector in place and the pin itself is held in by a tiny hex screw underneath the rear sight(slides off to either side).

I haven't seen the part availible as a replacment and even had to make my own to fit in place of it but it's not a huge deal., when your replacing the bearing, go for one that is slightly larger than the original, and it locks and holds into the select modes much more securely., finally, when it's all back together, stick some thread lock on the screw under the rear sight to prevent it from comig off in future.,:)

gimmie a shout if you have any difficulty with making a pin, I should be able to rustle one up for ya.,:)
