The rules of the road dont change very much really so if you have one of the books that was delivered to every house a few years ago then that is good.

Also, everything is available online here : http://www.rulesoftheroad.ie/

How detailed an answer are you expected to give? My instructor gave me a '50 most popular questions' sheet to revise, one of the questions was where should you not park (or something similar), with a page number listed for the answer. There were 8 options - do they expect you to answer with specific measurements - as in with stopping distances/alcohol concentrations?

the answers to questions that your instructor gave you should be enough although you should still read the rules of the road book. learn the traffic signs and road markings. questions such as where should you not park, when can you overtake, when do you use dipped headlights are very very common

Some of the most commons questions that tend to come up are :

When should you use dipped headlights ?
When can you overtake on the left ?
What does an amber traffic light mean ?
How would you recognise a pedestrian crossing at night ?

I'm sure the list your instructor has given you will cover these and a lot more. You will generally be asked about 6-10 questions plus the road signs.

The most important point is to answer confidently without emmm'ing and aahh'ing :-) If for example they ask where can you not park and you start listing off places : In a no parking zone, at a clearway during the specified hours, within 5 meters of a junction, brow of a hill ...then they will generally stop you and move on even though the list goes on for a lot more places.

For the road signs ensure you can recognise the Clearway sign and the pedestrian street sign as these are 2 which you really cannot guess unless you know them.
