Is it for your second or third permit?
For my second one I was sent out a form to renew it.

    Hi Permabear,
Just wondering, if you or anyone else would know, are those who are renewing their learners permit post 4th of april be subject to the 12 mandatory ADI lessions? I figured you, Brian(TheoryTestTips) or any of the ADI's on here might be in the know, I've to renew mine at the end of the month(May 30th 2011)
    Thanks in advance ;)

AFAIK it's only for those recieving their FIRST learners permit after april 4th 2011 who are subject to the new legislation

thanks a lot for the info lads! just to point out to any others following that might be caught out with providing ID when renewing their learners permit:
it says in note G: of the learner permit application
"Your application must be accompanied by an original birth certificate or a valid passport or a certificate of registration unless
    - you hold a current driving license or learner permit, or
    - held a driving license within the last ten years or a learner permit within the last five years, or
    - you hold a current valid driving license issued by another Member Sate of the European Union or another "recognised country".
    "

BUT on note K it says:
"The licensing authority may, in its absolute discretion, request you provide additional evidence of identity. Please note that only original, valid documents(not photocopies) will be accepted. Some documents which will be accepted for this purpose are a passport; a birth certificate; marriage certificate; a certificate of registration; a cheque book; a cheque card; a credit card; a credit union membership card; a bank, building society or savings bank book; a Social Welfare payment book; signing-on card or free travel card; a medical card; an employment or student identity card or a travel document containing you name and photograph. You are advised you are advised to bring one of these documents with you if applying in person"

    So don't get caught out!;)
