    Hey guys,

I got some work done about 2 years ago on back lower molars on either side of my mouth- the fillings I got have either cracked or completely fallen out and the pain, especially at night time is immense- it's starting to feel like it's shooting up my neck into my ears and I'm getting freaked out that I have a major infection. I've been taking painkillers and rinsing with boiling salt water to try kill stuff and letting whiskey sit in my mouth to numb the pain, but nothing's really working.

Anywho, does anyone have a recommendation of somewhere in the city centre of Dublin (or anywhere really) that are good for emergency appointments? I also would LOVE if there was a place that does a payment plan type thing as I'm a student and have (literally) no money until Friday week, but I don't think I can last that long without getting these teeth out of my mouth!!! I think it'll have to be extractions, I think it'll mean Ill loose most of my bite on the right hand side- will that mean dentists will refuse to extract? I deffo can't afford root canal.

    Thanks a million in advance,

    Zo

Most dentists will fit in an emmergency like you if you phone early in the morning. It is not too expensive to get rid of the pain. A decision on rootcanal or extraction can be deferred till later when you are under less pressure.

100 euro will go a long way to solve your present problem. Borrow the money from your parents , your friends, or from the dentist.

You have to swallow the wiskey for it to work! Sometimes ice cold water will alleviate the pain. depends on the pain..... try it and see. Anyway, today is Friday. Get on the phone right away.

You could try the dental hospital at the back of trinity college.
You will have sit and wait probably but would need to go in there today! Wont cost too much and will get you out of pain in short term

agree with georgie. you have to swallow the whiskey. although if you could get your hands on some poitin...

whatever you do, don't use boiling water. tepid at most, but boiling will cause a few more issues!

go to the lincoln tonight down beside the dental hospital and get your claws out for a 4th or 5th year dental student. tell them they've got great eyes and they'll have you in for a root filling next week. and if you tell them they've got a really funny wit about them, then they might sneak you in past reception so you don't have to pay.
that's if dublin works the same way as cork did..
    so i've heard.

    Thanks guys!

I had thought about the dental hospital- I had my wisdom teeth out there about 7 years ago and thought they were brilliant, but I thought you had to be referred by your actual dentist? It would make sense if Trinity students could use there as their dentist, I know it would help me!

And does the swallowing of the whiskey not mean you just get hammered? Is that the 'numbing' that I've been told about???!!?? :D

    Thanks for the replies guys!
