Found out today if I swap my License for a Dutch license I get the M (moped) and also I can drive a 7500kg vehicle rather than the 2500 kg restriction on an irish license ..

Anyone know when they changed it on an Irish license ?

Do you mean 3500kg limit? ;)

I would think it's something to do when you actually passed your test originally. Call it "grandfather rights" if you like.

I take it you'd be also entitled to the associated EB and EC1?

[I pass my UK "B" test prior to 1997, so I get amongst other things BE, C1, C1E, D1(101), D1E(101), p (moped) on my UK licence, but those who passed their tests after then only get B and p (122) (need to get a CBT first to validate their moped entitlement), it all sort of ties in with 2DLD (2nd EU Driving Licence Directive)]

“And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, generates funds to the exchequer. You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

Yes. They will do 100kph so you can go faster than a truck and off road infinitely better than any tractor/jeep at 16, on green diesel, for tractor tax and insurance and it seats three. And then you go on a road trip to the continent and put the steering on the other side!! Whats not to love!?! An incredible machine.
