The bike park has been before, I posted the name of the shop before that used to have it just on O'Connell Bridge, the name of it completely slips my mind at the moment, Harrinsomething or another.

It used to be below the shop anyway, I used to use it before the shop closed. Myself, dad and brother used to get our bikes from them and they also serviced them, it was a good spot.

{musings to myself} What the hell is the name of it...........

EDIT ! Aha !! Hardings it was !

Ah you beat me to it Jip. Harding's on Bachelor's walk. Used to leave my bike in there when I was in college in Bolton St. If I remember it was only a pound a day but well worth the peace of mind that your bike is safe and sound (especially if you ended up in The Yarn Hall after college to discuss the lectures of the day.....NOT)

Sounds good, I'm always a bit cagey about leaving my bike in town.

Not sure about the "Car Showroom" idea though, it would be good for buying full bikes, but do you think it will work for just picking up different components? Maybe everyone is doing that online anyway

No comment, except when I get round to it later I will be starting a thread on "older" cyclists that may be of interest

    I dont understand that phrase.
It seems to me you are referring to veterans or cyclists with vast amount of experience

Yip, just drop it off and away you go. I was a smelly student too and worked in the city at weekends, sure you know students aren't too concerned about personal hygiene :p

I don't think I was any fitter then, in fact I'd say I've never been as fit as I am now, but I don't remember turning up all sweaty anywhere after been on the bike and I didn't even know fancy wicking clothing existed !

I used to be on my Diamond Back MTB (not to be confused with Black Diamond, that used to bug the **** out of me, me on a decent bike and people thinking it's a cheapy) so maybe I just couldn't go as fast as I do now.

Where exactly is this opening? I was on Middle Abbey Street yesterday and didn't see anything that looked like it might be this.

    BASTARDS!!:)

I had plans for something like this in the IFSC!:)

I hope they don't have nice stuff in the shop it's too close to work I'd be forever nipping in for a bike porn fix.

Finally, given their proximity to the Quays, they should offer to loan out some pumps - they'll do a roaring trade.

Sounds like it will be a great addition to the city centre - hopefully it will go really well for them.

btw - wonder if you can leave your bike there overnight......
