I dont know if this is the right forum to discuss this subject, but it is a cause for concern for farmers. love is blind but marriage is an eye opener was an old saying.
I have recently become aware of strange decisions in family law courts pertaining to farmers. I will alloborate If allowed

    Hi all,
I need some advice in relation to our family home.
My sister has decided to move back in with her husband and 4 girls. My parents are eldery 71 & 75 yrs and feel they have to do whatever to help out.My sister and husband are both unemployed now and are in arrears on there mortgage. They want to rent out their home and live with them long term ie till the youngest is 21.My parents house is old and not really set up to take an extra 6 people.I feel they are being bullied into this with demands that they pay for a kitchten revamp and get in central heating etc along with furniture being pilled up in the hallway.
Does anybody know if they stay in this house long term will this become the childrens home in law and become very difficult to move them out once my parents pass away.

Could we end up with a tenants that doesn`t have to pay rent.

Is this going to end up a very messy situation.

Talk to a solicitor, your own solicitor, not your parent's or your sister's solicitor.

Its a long time since i posted but it gets worse, orded by court to sell 18acres in 2006 valued at €360k by judge if not sold by 6 months pay the money. Land not sold because of registry probs, money had to be paid by loan, hard to get a bid for land now, €48k paid in interest charges, principle still owed, rest of farm may have to be sold to pay bill, call that justice ?

I didn't get to see the original story, would you post it up again because it's something that I would be worried about for the future.

i know what they are looking for long term!! And its not temporary. Where there's a will, there's people. Iv noticed it myself, but keep out of it. My uncle recently died and left everything to gran. A townie niece, has suddenly shown an interest in him and calling down to the empty house that im surprised she remembers directions. Its been years since she actually seen or talked him. Not nice to watch the way things go over land!!
