Basically I've been alerted that my job is vulnerable to being made redundant under a mass redundancy and from previous iterations in my place in nearly every situation the worst came to pass. There is a less than 1/10 chance of NOT being laid off. We've been told that after the consultation period ends the notice will be immediate so we've a few months notice at least.

Anyhow by coincidence my lease ends the following week and unless I have an offer in the meantime (which may happen) I was planning on moving back to Dublin to my parents home until I get another job, rather than starting out a new rental. My original plan was to look for somewhere nicer but the redundancy has changed the situation.

Anyway this will make the process of signing on more complicated. Can I sign on immediately back home in Dublin or will I have to change my address back to my parents before the last pay cheque? Or would I have to go to a local office in my outgoing address? My redundancy won't be huge so obviously I don't want to have to trail back accross the country if I don't have to. Any ideas? Do you have to make your application in the locality of your last address or does it matter where you apply?
