P60 - how come my gross pay is so low?

    I got my P60 there last week and was surprised how low my gross pay was on it. I am aware that this relates to gross pay less pension contributions. My question is does this also include AVC contributions. I ask because a girl i work with has been working a half a year less than me, but her gross pay is 2,500 more. Already checked with grumpy civil servant today in salary section of Dept of Ed and he said I am defo on correct scale of salary ladder. Any other reason my gross on P60 would be showing up less than I expected??? Cheers in advance

    Your are correct to say that your Gross pay on the P60 is less Pension/Avc's

    if you still have your payslip from December the P60 should show the exact same figures but your payslip will give you a bit more details i assume. The P60 states your earning for Jan 09 to Dec 09 . Were you working for the full 12 months ??

    If you cant find it ..ask that grumpy civil servant ..they might be able to provide a copy!!
