Hey guys, my idiot brother scratched the **** outta my car, big dents in the door, paint scratched down a metre of the car. It's a 99 hyuandai accent, 3 door.

Just wondering about how much it'd cost to have proffessionally done, the dents removed and it resprayed.

It's a 99 Hyundai, wtf would you want to spend money to get this professionally done? Unless your brother is paying that is? :pac:

Offer cash if you're not claiming, maybe 700 if you're lucky. The problem is the amount of panels involved.

Hate to say it OP but its going to cost the value of the car to get it repaired professionally. Unless you know someone in the business.
Get yourself some T-cut & see what it looks like after a few hours of elbow work.

Jaysus he more than "scratched" your car LOL! :D

Tbh unless you get your brother to pay the cost of repair will be more than the car is worth.

You could try indo's etc though and see what they can do. Might be able to polish out the worst and touch it up but leave the dents in.

As the car aint worth much I'd leave it. You could get a cheap job done but it would be exactly that - a cheap job. I got a door done recently enough for 300 because of a chip. With the time involved in straightening out that and painting panels 7-800 wouldn't be out of the question in a cheap place.

That car is uneconomical to repair, it would cost more that it's worth.

    Compensation?

Ask for €1000 and let him keep the car!

Ask for a grand and also sell the car for whatever you can get for it. Don't let him keep the car!!

The car is shared between us, we're both learners, first car, i'm thinkin i'll just clean it up and trade in the car against a larger one in the future. What's the story on that €1500 of tax for scrapping a car? can someone link the details of it?

How did he manage to do that?

Get a can of Silver hammerite and brush paint it on (€20 all in). Shared car between learners - it could happen again....
Would insuance cover it. I know a fella in Rathcoole that would do it for about €300 - €350.
