Not sure what to make of this one. Sees almost overkill. I think I'd prefer the A&H alternative. It will probably cost about 3.7 Trillion euro too, not a lot of normal DJ's are going to have this setup, can't see many clubs buying it either, not for a long while anyway

Priced around £1,749 AFAIK so not the worst in price considering you essentially have an EFX 1000 built into it...

It's looking like it'll probably only work to its potential when used with the 900s or the 2000s

Not generally a huge fan of effects built into a mixer, but it certainly looks like fun...

What a load of tacky ****.

    Just buy a "disco" light.

And why are pioneer insisting on putting those awful awful filters on their new mixers? Maybe this one wont have that awful awful pronounced Q-point resonance that the 700 and 800 do...

PS just two phono pre-amps is cutting corners in a major way fellas....

I've yet to see a club with more than 2 vinyl decks, so I'd much prefer the two USB slots - basically cuts out the need for a soundcard.

I think they went the wrong way. Instead of taking the 800 and adding more features to it, they should have just brought out an 800 mk2, by upgrading the EQs, adding a filter like A&H (as in not as an effect, but as a knob), and upgrading the EQs a bit. That IMO would get a lot more sales.

I suppose they're hoping clubs will splash out and buy a whole new Pioneer set-up, to look good/attract DJs etc.

alot of big name dj will request these mixers on there riders and as such the popularity will grow.

whether thats a good thing im not sure

    Totally agree with this.

I don't think it's for clubs, tbh, more likely for hire shops. Only a few "bigger name" DJ's will ever want this, or the A&H 4D or a few other high end mixers, so no club could justify them.

Exactly: either do vinyl or don't. Two phono pre-amps isn't enough on a 4 channel mixer, if you ARE doing vinyl, and its two too many otherwise. I disagree that using more than two decks is unusual though. We've had lots of guests who have requested three.

From what I see, the top-end mixers (with all the tacky lights and bells and whistles) don't tend to get used a whole pile even by big name dj's. A&H 92 and Pioneer 800, yeah, sure, but I'm not sure that new pioneer mixer even has a market. Just seems to be a thrown-together hack of existing products to out-4D the A&H 4D.

Jaysus, design wise it looks like it came straight from the seventies! It's strangely reminiscent of Kitt!

No prizes for design at all (except for the digital crossfader thingy maybe).

With all these new over-priced and cumbersome hardware solutions, it seems to me that Pioneer are flogging a dead horse...

the success of all these pioneer products almost completely depends on what big names they can get to endorse it. if they do get a good few, and those guys demand it on the rider, it'll be 'industry standard' within 18 months.

Hmmm very interesting about this BPM lock for a whole set

BPM counter works to a tenth of a bpm - i.e. 128.4bpm - so its barely needed really.

But when you can lock your whole set to one tenth of a BPM and needn't change the tempo after that, you wonder what's the point; why not just use a laptop that has the option of sync?

100% - I don't understand why anyone would bother and not just get a decent laptop + controller setup, but many seem to be still very attached to CDJ's. The pain in the ass way in which you have to go though track names etc would drive me nuts, so much nicer having a screen

It will work fine with tech house or minimal but be utterly useless at counting the BPM of anything syncopated and faster than 155 BPM, just like all BPM counters.

How cool is the recording feature on the DJM-350!

I think it's a tad overkill, I didn't really see the need for an upgrade to the DJM800, I'd rather see a 2 channel version of the DJM800. The only difference between the DJM700 and the DJM800 is the colour effects and I think digital outputs and the 800 is around €550 dearer, so I'm curious as to how much a 2 channel version would be.
