Hi Guys need some advice on prices of shoes in Ireland. I have been living abroad for the last few years and am returning. Wanting to do some shopping in Kuala Lumpar on the way home, I want to buy a pair of runners that i willl use for training and also use to run in the Dublin Marathon. What is the rough price range for the models recommended by Runners world for 2010- http://www.runnersworld.com/video/1,8052,s6-4-0-4,00.html?bcpid=2891005001&bclid=63792773001&bctid=63870792001
I have no idea, cos i have not be there for a while so even vauge guides would be good. In Kuala lumpar they are coming in at 130Euro for the best Asic's i can find.

    I like these:
    http://www.runningshoesguru.com/2009/04/nike-zoom-vomero-4-running-shoes-review/

Picked them up for 50 in a sale, sweet! The nike + range is going for 90 euros in the dundrum shopping centre, don't ask me which sports shop.

I'm gonna buy another pair before they are out of stock.

It's more important to get the best fit for your running tendencies, than to get the latest most expensive pair. When you find a good shoe try to get a few pairs.

The vomero 4s were going for 140 euros not so long ago, so it's a great bargin for me to get them now, best cushioning I've ever had in a shoe, but that may not be what you are after.

My knees thank me everytime I put those babies on!
The most expensive shoes aren't always the best for you, a professional fitting is what you need.

I hear people saying that an expensive pair of shoes isn't all that much better than a cheaper pair, but I don't buy that at all. At the high-end range they cater for different types of runner, that's why they are more expensive because it's not a one-size-fits-all shoe they are selling.

Generally here a good pair could cost you between 120 & 200+ euros

Well, the Asics Kayanos are around 140-150 euros here. Or about 90 quid in UK. Considering that I doubt it's worth your while buying em in Kuala Lumpur, I would have thought things are a lot cheaper there!

On the "best asics" note, I've had about 6-7 pairs of Kayanos and they've really gone downhill. This is the first pair that I couldn't just put on and start running, they've messed up the lacing so that people suffer from tendonitis as a result of it, and the insoles are quite poor so you get blisters!

I went through tons of trouble to get them to a state where I can actually run in these shoes. Asics make some amazing stuff, but unfortunately this time around they got the very basics wrong!

Take time to pick the right shoe and make sure it's a good fit alongside with everything else (the right support, correction etc).

Yep I read a few scathing reviews of asics, this seems to be a common case with different versions of a shoe.
This is why people buy a few pairs when they find a good shoe they like.
