While I think of it - there was some doubt about the Skerries Parade going ahead this year. I believe that the Loughshinny Motor Cycle Club & a few others stepped in to save the day. (Fair due to you!)

Anyway, they are looking for more people to help them stewarding on the day. If you can assist as a steward for the day, please do. Contact Susan at info@loughshinnymotorcycleclub.com and come along to the meeting in the Bus Bar Skerries on Monday 15th March at 8pm for the final preparation for the day.

Balbriggan Parade (excerpt from page linked above):

The parade will start at 1.45 p.m. from the car park at St. Peter & Paul’s Church.

The route of the parade will be as follows: Dublin Street, Bridge Street, Drogheda Street and Lambeecher. The marching groups will return by the same route to the review stand at Georges Square. All vehicles will continue on to the Harry Reynolds Road and back to the church car park.

The Parade in Rush is on after 12 mass. Starts at Millbank and goes down the Main St to the Square. There the St. Maurs Pipe band will do a recital. A few groups of musicans will go from pub to pub collecting for charity.

I will head up to St. Maurs G.A.A Club where there will be dinner served loads of events outside for the kids the big screen and music inside.

Lusk St. Patrick's Day Parade will take place at 1.30pm, starting at Dublin Road Roundabout and finishing at the green in front of the Church.
Last year was very enjoyable with face painting, balloon modelling, bands playing & more on the green.:)

A few people go from parade to parade so maybe next year we will have at least an hour between neighbouring parades. Rush is due to start 1pm and lusk about 1.30

Quite a few of the Vintage groups go in each parade and a few of the charity groups cover more than 1 parade. Watch out for Jacinta Halpin who will be doing her usual good work for Temple Street

Hope all your parades went well.

Rush was excellent. Well done to the clubs and individuals who actually made an effort. Pipe Band were super as usual. Few pics below

Weather stayed fine. Then back to St. Maurs where you had a choice of main courses for €1 Bowl of Irish Stew or stunning chicken Curry. 10 or 12 parents do the cooking. Needless to say the Bar was fairly busy and there was a Magician and then a D.J. Both FREE. Hundreds of kids out doing Puc Fada and Kic Fadas and just enjoying themselves in a safe enviroment with their friends. All nice and tired by 7.30 and ready for bed. Great crack
