Wow, from reading these forums I had no idea there were so many jazz, blues and reggae musicians. Or are you all voting 'other' just to make a point? Ok, fair enough, I should have included more options! I suppose I made the poll to satisfy my own curiosity, but I did try to cater for the main styles I see people forming bands around, on this forum at least.

Secondly I'd like to point out that I play a reasonably wide variety of genres so it's pretty difficult to pick just one especially if Blues, Reggae, Jazz, Funk, Soul, Ambient, Trip Hop, Classical, Traditional, Rap, Industrial, Punk, Hardcore, Dance and Ska aren't going to be represented but Post-Grunge is.

You'd be in good company !! But for blues there would be no jazz


I play blues and classic rock.

OP ; I would have thought that blues deserved it's own section, as rock "borrows" a lot from it, same as above with jazz.

I had blues, along with 13 other genres when I revised the poll about 2 minutes later, but they were all lost when the threads were merged!!

Actually, every option on here, save pop, as that's ambiguous, comes from the blues, so come on the others!
