So you've found a nice job, sent in the CV, done the interview and everything's been great and positive.
They say they will call you by a certain date. They don't.

    So, do you call them?

If so how long do you wait, 1 day, 2 days, a week?

Or should you just forget about it and move on.

Most definitely; it's not going to damage your chances. It shows that you are pro-active and interested. Even if they decide not to offer you the position it will give you experience in making these type of calls and build your confidence as these situation can be daunting.

I've gone through this a few times and I think it's important not just to ensure you get closure one way or another about the job but that, like pollypocket10 said, you get used to talking to strangers on the phone. One big piece of advice is not to get short with them (however much they may deserve it).

Another aspect is that even if you are unsuccessful in your application this time, there's nothing stopping you from calling that person back in a few months to see if anything has changed in the organisation.
