All I have at home is a crappy Chorus setup.

What channel is showing it? I know it used to be Setanta. I'm not sure if they're still even going, or what.

I don't want to subscibe to Setanta itself (or whatever channel it is) - I don't watch tv much and I don't watch any sport besides MMA. Can you pay for a single event?

    ESPN is the channel.

Can you buy the stream directly from the UFC?

Best I remember for when the UFC was on Setanta was that people would ring up, order for a month and cancel immediatetly after. So you pay for a month ~20 euro which is equivalent of a PPV.

obviously just make sure you cable provider allows monthly connection /disconnection.

Isn't ESPN and Setanta free on Chorus/NTL now?

It's free with the [strike] basic [/strike]digital cable subscription so maybe he does have it! Unless he's on analogue etc.

ESPN is only free if you jhave their top package, however it works out the same price to have the premium package as it does to have the basic one plus ESPN.

As an alternative, I believe that UFC now offer live streaming on their website, at a charge

Don't suppose they do this for WEC events too?

I wanted to do this before on UPC, you can order for a month=15 euro then if you want to disconnect they charge you a 10 euro disconnection fee the scammers. So I just got it for the UFC

    Simple answer to this one...

Call Chorus and order ESPN on Friday March 19th and cancel on April 18th.

    You'll get...
    - Fight Night 20
    - UFC 111
    - Fight Night 21
    - UFC 112
    - Fight Night 22

    ...all for €25.

    That's a bargain.

    Don't order it from ufc.com - it's around 50 dollars for UFC 111 alone!

Wow, I think I just jizzed myself.

Edit: though I'm being told that you can't get ESPN on Chorus.........
Then someone else told me you can. Where's my phone...bah, it's too late to call Chorus now, I'll do it tomorrow.

I don't think Ireland is a supported country for the ufc.com streaming of events. I remember reading it in the small print for last months PPV.

Well you can def get ESPN on ntl - and as far as I know chorus & ntl are now the same company. All at upc.ie

yeah you can get ESPN on chorus, and if you take this package

    http://www.upc.ie/television/max/

you get it at no extra cost

    *edit*

I had the most basic package (about 10 channels), plus was paying €15 a month extra for ESPN. the package above gives all non-premium channels, plus espn, for the same amount i was paying. I rang them up and got them to upgrade me to the max pack, no problem

I don't think my brain can handle that value. It's like Aldi have done a UFC package!

What about Sky? Does anyone know of any packages like the one for chorus that include ESPN? Or do I have to order ESPN alone?

It's €16 per month for ESPN and you can add it on to any of the packages. (It's €12 if you order or already have Sky Sports).

Thanks Bret, €16 isn't too bad, way better then signing up for setanta again. :D

They are probably doing that to discourage people from signing up for a month the cancelling before the billing date.
