    Eh? They start at 1pm.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,333 ✭✭✭Sairus

The website said something about 1900 kick offs? If it's 1300 I'll definitely take a stroll down.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 567 ✭✭✭Vyze

The RBs when held on a Tuesday tend to start at 7pm so that's probably what you saw.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,333 ✭✭✭Sairus

    Actually hang on. 1 pm?

When will this be over at? I could get home at a reasonable time?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,971 ✭✭✭Orim

    Did no-one read roogles post?

I won't be able to make it as I have a 21st to go to and I want to try and get our casuals here a bit more organised.

Saturday slayers closes up at 6pm but if we're starting at 1, I'm sure we'll be done before that (save any late start). Trains back to Dublin should still be running and of course, busses every hour.

Kyle has all of the results and points/brackets etc. so I'll just post this informally:

    Results:
    1st - Newtype (Ryu)
    2nd - Cobelcog (Cammy)
    3rd - The Truth (Blanka/E. Honda)
    4th - Blag (Dictator)
    5th - LiquidSwords (Fei Long)
    6th - Doctor DooM (Guile)
    7th - fake_roogle (Boxer)
    8th - ChopperByrne (E. Honda/El Fuerte)

  • Moderators Posts: 8,678 ✭✭✭D4RK ONION

Good to see E.Honda placing on the podium :)

Fun as always lads! Personal highlight was countering simon's ambiguous ultra with guile's and it actually working for once. :)

Both myself and blag were going mental with lag, but the result's fair enough seeing as I got about 3 free sweeps and a free ultra out of it :)

Also, we got to go for lunch with Irish cammy while his fangirls were waiting outside. That was cool.

As a bit of feedback i'd really suggest best of 3 fights in the group stages, especially if the numbers are 16 or under.

That did look particularly cool, even for Guile....:pac:

I was getting frustrated as hell alright but in fairness it was Guile as much as the lag that was doing it!

It was a fun afternoon, there's issues with the TV's,especially with teching throws but you can't whine too much when you're given a great venue to not only hold ranbats but have casuals in twice a week.

Special note to Irish Cammy, you'll pay for that taunt on April 30th!

Puerto Rican Balrog has nothing on Irish Cammy :pac:

Was a good wee day no doubt, nice to see Doom and Chopper make the trek up for the competition and we even had a new guy there yesterday which was good.

Although I'll admit I was a wee bit disappointed when I found out he was the only one of the new guys there that played SF4, when I turned round and seen about 6 or 7 new guys I was like  but then I was like :( hope he ends up being a regular though he seemed pretty cool.

My poor Cammy playing housemate is getting serious inferiority complexes built up here.

That guy found us through the brianvondoom video channel, walked right up to me and freaked me out a little because he knew who I was :) he bet cobelcog but got knocked out, he was all disappointed, hope he comes back!

Warm welcome to Sairus, Tetly and Damien this month. Sairus travelled all the way from Galway to hit the ranbats up. Tetly and Dee; hope you guys stick around, get to know the locals and level up! =D We also had two familar faces from Dublin; DooM and Chopper with tales of Cannes and skills to make a mark on our leaderboard. Good to see you guys again. Hope you can both make it up for the finale next month.

Your Rose was pretty nasty, I would say a little work and you're going to be bothering alot of people. Team obscure character ftw.

  • Moderators Posts: 8,678 ✭✭✭D4RK ONION

With my current possible second, we could def. do that team!

Good to see everyone had a good time at this, I hope to travel up to one of these at some stage, I reckon it'll be cheapest to fly up from Shannon though.

Hm. I might actually look at doing something like that myself once I get back to Galway. It's 14 hours on a bus otherwise.
Last time I did that was not pleasant.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,808 ✭✭✭✭K.O.Kiki

    14 hours?

My uncle drove over 500 miles in that time. In Madagascar, a 3rd-world country.
    Wow.

  • Moderators Posts: 8,678 ✭✭✭D4RK ONION

Cheapest and quickest! The only question is do they run flights from Shannon to Belfast... *runs off to research*

    Bah, doesn't look like it...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,333 ✭✭✭Sairus

14 hours is the full trip from Galway>Belfast and then Belfast>Galway. I have to pass through Dublin. =(

    After some research...
I can get a flight from Galway to Manchester, then Manchester to Belfast. That's still quicker than the bus... it just costs 6 times the price. Guess I'll be getting used to plenty of bus travel again!

  • Moderators Posts: 8,678 ✭✭✭D4RK ONION

I can't find a bus station for Belfast on the Bus Eireann site. What's it called?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,910 ✭✭✭Sisko

jesus this country is retarded for making things harder for people outside dublin. Shouldn't take more then 5 hours to get anywhere on this island.

    Europa Bus Station.

It's not a Bus Eireann bus station, so they don't put it in their list of stations, even though their buses use it.
