P21 Statement

Perhaps the fine people on boards can give me some information. I believe I can get the revenue to issue me with a P21 statement. I believe that's where they basically look to see how much tax you've paid and give you a refund if you have overpaid tax. Or I guess it's possible, you may end up owing money if you underpaid tax.

What happens if it turns out you've underpaid tax? How do they go about getting that money from you? I don't think I have underpaid my tax but I suppose I'd be a bit worried about a huge tax bill landing through my letterbox that would bankrupt me or something!

    Advice please, thanks.
