Animal print dress to wedding?

Is animal print a no-no for a wedding. I was thinking of wearing this dress to a summer wedding this year but I'm not sure if the dress is a little tacky for a black tie posh do.

Or else I have this dress?

personally I would say no to animal print and to the first dress. The second dress doesn't seem as bad but it's hard to tell.

It depends on who's wedding it is and how formal they want the day to be. At least they are a nice length - nothing worse than seeing a micro-dress at a wedding. The second dress might be suitable but you might want a pachmina or something to tone it down for the church and photos.

If the dress is something that you would wear for a night out on the town then I would think that it isn't suitable.

Finding a dress for a wedding is a nightmare! Good luck OP!

I would say No to the first one and maybe to the second but not really for a black tie wedding. Keep it simple and classy. A nice cocktail dress.

My wedding was black tie and most of the women work cocktail dresses. You most lightly have a dress suitable already in the wardrobe. That the good thing about black tie weddings, have a look at what you have first.

Well the bride has implied that she expects us to all wear full length dresses. Most full length dresses I've seen are just way over the top imho so I thought I go with a more floaty number.

No to the first dress - it's just not really appropriate for a wedding. A possible yes to the second dress - but I think it may be too 'glittery' or showy for a wedding (but of course it depends on when and where the wedding is being held)

I think the first dress is lovely and much prefer it over the second & do think it an appropriate dress.

Not unless the couple are pure squares :o)

I would agree with most of the above posters. I would say no to animal print generally and the first dress (imo) is a bit tacky. The second dress looks very pretty the colours in it are gorgeous, it's hard to tell in the pic but it looks like it may be very low cut which is fine on some boobs and not on others (if you know what I mean??).

If you decide not to go for either, try monsoon for full length dresses. They have a great selection. Have a look at asos also.

No, no, no, no, no.....and a most definate no to teh first.:D

The second you could maybe get away with but personally i think its too much for a wedding

I would say no to the animal print dress, imo it's just a bit too trashy, especially for a wedding.

The second dress is beautiful and I love the cut and colours but as someone mentioned before it does seem to be very low cut......if you have a curvy chest I wouldn't wear it to a wedding either, fab for something else though :pac:

The model in the pics looks like a very very small size 8 to me. And looks tall as well.

While the dresses are not to my taste, I think that if you are the size of the model (or smaller) you could wear either.

If you are any bigger than the girl (even a size 10) I don't think these dresses will look good on.

The 2nd dress is lovely, maybe put a nice cardigan with it so it wont be so revealing though,

Like both dresses but I would personally think they are a bit extravagant for a wedding, you'd certainly have all eyes on you if you wore either which I couldn't see the bride being very happy about it. I would say try and pick something more subtle

I actually prefer the first dress. The second is something I would expect Jordan to wear. However, maybe there is a more appropriate dress out there. I would buy a dress you like not what you feel the bride wants you to wear. Maybe you have a dress already you could wear or get one you could wear again. It costs guests a lot to attend weddings so I think it is unfair to expect people to buy full length dresses which tend to cost more and are less likely to be used again.

I think the OP actually has the second dress already.

Love the first dress - i don't think it's too much at all if you've got the figure to pull it off! It's from that newyorkdress website isnt it?! Love the dresses on that! GO FOR IT!:D

I agree love love love the first one! You may like to wear a little bolero over it for the early part of the day but I think it is FAB!

I don't like either of them. And I can't see any of them being worn at a wedding.

Yes its on newyorkdress website. The second dress I already have (got it in boston) but I think its on the website too.

Thanks for all your replies. I guess I'll hold off for now and maybe look around the shops for something else.

Maybe ask some other girls who are attending what they are wearing and try and wear something similar.

Both of those dresses (while nice for other events) are not suitable for a Black-tie wedding.
