    Hi.

Been doing some research about meeting with a career advisor for some info regarding a career direction change.

Has anyone met with one in the Dublin area they could recommend?
A lady I spoke with today wants €150 to talk for 2 hours, another wants €450 for a 5 hour interview/test and a follow up 2 hour meeting.

Nice cash, might consider a career change to become one of them!

    Any info appreciated.

    Thanks.
    Sparktest.

it depends on what they are offering i suppose. if they can give you an intellegience test and maybe a complete profile that could cost a bit on its own.

at the end of the day you are the only one who can figure out what you want to do.
check out the "Careers and Job Discussion" forum http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=1287
that will give a list of some of the options you have.

i assume you are not in college/school (since you are talkinga bout paying money like that :))... and the college would have a career guidance on offer.
    are you changing career ?

personally i would nearly be on the plane to australia ! :)
try and get sponsership and spend a few years there... only 28 once as you say :)

im much in the same boat, have electronic & computer engineering degree and not working in that line atall (doing software now). 28 and not held down. though im gonna stick with this career for another few years just to get something down on the CV... and see where life brings me then.

i see you posted about 8 months ago with the same query... my advice is to do what you are doing now... get up and do something about it else you will be sitting here in another 8 months time :)

well spotted. Going to act soon alright.. I'm never happy.

Been to and worked in Oz in 2008, mining and design office work.
No place like home though, family, friends etc. R word and all!

Really surprised more people haven't used a career advisor though...

    Appreciate the advise.
