Finally I got my first classic: MK3 escort

Picked her up at the weekend in Cork and took her on an irish escort club run to Clare our around Loop Head. She needs a few small jobs done and I had to get a tow at one point as I blew a fuel line that we had done a patch repair job on. But she is all sorted now and running sweet.

She is an XR3i cabby....

and me tearing her through Clare yesterday afternoon.

Nice car, prefer the early ones too. I recall seeing my first cabriolet Escort at the Motor Show in the RDS, 1982 or 83 !

unfortunately my car is in my garage for ful restoration , i dont expect it to be out for a year or more to be honest but when it is , it will be mint lol .... and its a 200bhp engine but i plan for it to be 240 if not more is my plan as my capri is 300bhp at the wheels so need for same sort off figures from the escort lol , my capri is getting new headgaskets and some turbo work done ....

id say she will be sweet when done. Shame the RS will take so long, sure will look forward to seeing her see the light of day when she is eventually done.

out of work since spetember , got my capri to get done , got numerous other projects which lucily cost very little so want the RS to be done the way i want it , which is not RS OWNER spec but drivable usable car but spotless too , presume u have been to RS owners shows , damn sweet cars but toooooooooooo clean undrivable really ... my capri is valued at 22k and when it was out it was sidewards or extremely fast everywhere lol , i have seen over 150mph in her ,
