2 goal win for Liverpool if Torres and Yossi start. Otherwise 1-2.

An unconvincing victory by a one goal margin. Torres to score.

Someone get me odds for Torres to score 2

What's the craic with Aquilani? Is he injured or short on fitness or something?

I heard Aquilani will be out for the rest of season?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,972 ✭✭✭✭mike65

If so he shouldn't be on the bench, oh look!

See the Liverpool thread for a discussion on the matter. Rafa basically came out and said that the good of the team and securing a top 4 finish is the priority and that he can't risk matches by forcing a player who isn't up to the speed of the PL onto the pitch.

We won't be seeing too much to Aquilani in the PL for the rest of this season unless we get 4th secured pretty damn soon (not going to happen).

Source? Maybe you are confusing it with Rafa saying that we won't be seeing much of him?

He is on the bench tonight. He won't be 'out', but won't be given a chance in the league too often in the middle of this scrap. Bad timing for him really, but given how bad he has been at times when he has played (Bolton springs to mind) we can't afford to give him time now in the league.

A nice comfortable 3-0 win to Pool would be very nice... Torres with 1 and kuyt with 2.

Whats the rest of the bench. Would have liked to see Babel continue his decent spell

Despite the team, I am still somewhat worried :( Have no confidence in the team at the moment despite being confident in the individuals.

    From the BBC:

Wigan: Kirkland, Boyce, Caldwell, Bramble, Figueroa, Diame, McCarthy, N'Zogbia, Scharner, Rodallega, Moreno.

Subs: Stojkovic, Amaya, Thomas, Scotland, Moses, Gomez, Sinclair.

Liverpool: Reina, Mascherano, Carragher, Kyrgiakos, Insua, Lucas, Gerrard, Maxi, Kuyt, Benayoun, Torres.

Subs: Cavalieri, Johnson, Aquilani, Agger, Riera, Babel, Ngog.

I am liking the look of our bench!

No idea how this will turn out, hopeful with Nando on the pitch though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,466 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

Fernando with more individual brilliance please.

otherwise i can see this being a mundane 0-0 or 1-1.

DAMIT! I sold N'Zogbia. Now i hope he has a (proper) bad game

ESPN is annoying me. It's almost like they think that just because they don't get to talk about Liverpool very often, they'd better spout the same old claptrap that has been spouted everywhere else for months. All the old chestnuts have been trotted out, so to preserve my sanity I'm off it until kick off.

That is indeed a super bench. Pretty annoyed with Aquilani not starting. We dont need Masch and Lucas, as Ive said in the main thread.

I agree with you but it's fairly easy for us to make such broad sweeping statements.
