    Hi,

I am not sure if anyone help, but there was a feature on Newstalk last year about people over coming their fears and one guy wanted to overcome his fear of public speaking. It may have been part of George'll Fix it on the right Hook. A company were on the show who could give classes and guidance in this area. I was wondering does anyone know the name of this company or the name of a similar company that might do the same sort of service?

Not sure if this in the right section..

    Any help appreciated,

20 pints of lager will solve any problems with nerves.

20 pints would, but the power of speech would be long gone!

Motivational speakers are generally divorced, 35 and live in a van down by the river. Avoid.

    Whereabouts are you OP?
I found a course in Dublin but if you're somewhere else it may be too far to travel.
    More form Google.

    Hi Guys,

I am wondering is there any groups that offer training in public speaking. I have attended a number of toast master meetings recently and found them a little daunting. Most of the people which attended these meetings were quiet confident speakers and spent a large part of their time speaking whilst in employment.
I have little or no experience in speaking to large groups and would really like to develope this skill. Any info on where I could practice would be great.

Try another Toastmasters club, and keep trying one until you feel comfortable. I was an active member in one and it was great for making one feel comfortable enough to get up and speak. However, the "customs" were a bit antiquated and pretentious for my liking. Still, I'm glad I went back after the first visit. Beir bua!

I had a lecture to deliver at a conference last year and went to these guys to brush up my skills: http://communicationsclinic.ie/

They videotape you speaking and then play back the tape to give you feedback on your presentation skills. Was really helpful!
