Label Printer

I'm looking at the possibility of replacing our current thermal transfer printer with something that isn't a pain to get working.

The current printer is a Zebra 2746e and is maybe overkill for the use we give it these days. It's such a hassle getting it to print anything though I have been looking for something easier to use from windows.

We would be mostly using the printer to print labels for products so it would want to be able to print on plastic labels as well as paper the labels don't need to that big.

I was looking at something like the Brother QL 1050 but apparently that uses a special media only available from brother so they're expensive to run.

Has anyone any recommendations for a (thermal transfer preferable as I've read direct transfer isn't as durable) windows compatible easy to use label printer?
