No worries mate! Beatfinder is beside Central Bank just down past Ray's Pizza, you have to go up a flight of stairs and it's on your right there. Decent enough selection too.

Beatfinder pretty bad for house and techno tbf , the selection is terrible . city discs is better but its same records there constantly as is the case the in spindizzy . I heard sunil has left there aswell so id say they could faze out the new techno section there . Its pretty grim looking for records in town right now , if you want new records you really have to look online .

Fair enough, at least the Dubstep / DnB / Hip Hop heads are being looked after by All City still...

    i usually check :

hardwax - good for dub techno , berlin based lables , lots of classics and rare records aswell .

clone - good for electro/techno , dutch labels

    Ds2 - hard/industrial techno

boomkat - stock lots of english techno labels like modern love , seldom felt etc aswell as dubstep , electonica some rock .

decks - broad selection , kind of like juno except the quality control is a bit higher .

Chemical-records.co.uk are great for DnB, Dubstep and have a pretty big Techno selection, although it could be all rubbish (i don't really know my techno well enough to judge)

They're also very good for clothes and shoes, weirdly enough, consistently cheaper than actual fashion sites for brandname streetwear etc, and they sell equipment too.

    Fast, reliable service as well.

Phonica records is good also, only bought from them recently but quick shipping and a reasonable selection of techno. Its a good store also in London, around the Soho area.

Bleep is ok also, merged with the old warpmart site.

And actually I had a browse around Tower yesterday and left bitterly disappointed with their vinyl selection.

Shocking lack of choice these days in Dublin when it comes to techno anyway. Tower have the space, you would have to assume there would be a gap for them to start filling with a selection of techno, house, dubstep etc? - They should also include a 2nd hand section, do a 'Concerto' if anyone is familiar in Amsterdam - Dublin NEEDS a Concerto.

I've been looking into the idea of setting up a non-profit second hand vinyl co-op down in a cultural centre in Temple Bar, I have authorisation from the venue to go ahead with but am still waiting on a suitable amount of stock to push out - the idea is basically to let people stock a crate at a time of records for up to a month and to retain 100% of the money reaped from selling said records at a fiver a plate... I reckon that should get people interested...

    What's the "Concerto"?

Sounds a great idea, when do you reckon it should get going?

Concerto is a big music shop in Amsterdam. Its one of these old-fashioned stores with creaky wooden floors spread across a few floors - really good electronica section and lots of 2nd hand vinyl and CDs. One of these places that you wouldn't notice 3 hours passing.

    Hi all,

From the middle of next month we will be stocking vinyl at All-City record store on Crow St (Temple Bar) with techno, electro, some house and other stuff too. As you may know Sunil left Spindizzy a few months ago but will now be back in All-City ordering in new vinyl and keeping a secondhand section going as well. If you would like to join our forthcoming mailing list please send an email with "Mailing list" in subject title to earwiggle@gmail.com . Also, if you have any special requests of new or old releases that you would like to get, do let us know and we'll try our best to get in for you.

Will post up more details on the move in soon,

    Thanks,

    Jack
