Sorry dude, we're all way, way too cool for "trance" here. We're into "up-its-own-ar5e-House". We look down our noses at trance fans while sipping bacardi and dancing oh-so-self-conciously because we're oh-so-fockin cool and on-the-scene. Just got to make sure I'm walking "cool" and wearing the right brands because I'm oh-so-fockin popular in Dublin's "house" scene. Yeah man I know so-and-so WAY better than you...Nawww....

98% of todays Trance i personally wouldn't be into (you get the odd cracker from Art Of Trance) however it has it's place in dance music like every other genre, it is immensely popular particulary with younger and European clubbers, it might not be everyones cup of tea but it's still not going anywhere so id suggest people just accept that!:)

    Really?

Most of the teenagers I see out and about are queueing up to get in to Dubstep or Electro house nights...

(point conceded on the European crew though, but sure experience suggests they'd dance to anything at all over there)

Or else trance is just something you start off listening to as a youngster (euphoria CDs etc) and genres such as techno / electro / house are just natural progressions????

I did like trance when I was younger, and still enjoy the odd belter of a tune ( I just posted one in the 'must have albums' thread) but in fairness, when you immerse yourself further into electronic music, its natural that your going to give up on (perhaps even disown) what you first listened to!

I wouldnt see it as an 'up your own arse' mentality, if anything its a 'ah those were the days' one.

Now, clear the way while I try force my head up my rectum!!!

I dunno, I never had a trance phase at all, I came straight from Hip Hop to Breakbeat Hardcore tape-packs to second and third generation London Pirate radio tapes (as well as the very occasional Happy Hardcore tape, I'm not going to lie here) that my cousin used to post over to me and I also followed the likes of Pussyfoot, Ninja Tune and Mo'Wax on the way as well... Techno I only really got into years later, but not to the extent of ever really buying lots of it... Broken beats and basslines was always where it was at for me, whether in a ravey context or in a blunted and chilled context...

Some have valid points, only 16 myself.

I listen to all kinds of music but I admit Electro House & Progressive House/Trance are my favourites, cheers lads.

Yeah I was certainly into trance as a teenager and still like to listen for old times sake from time to time. Wouldn't have a clue about current trance or anything really since about 1996.

always liked the darker harder elements of trance from years back, but i was always more house and hardcore/jungle oriented. granted i bought alot and still have alot of trance vinyl from the 90's and give it a spin from time 2 time but the newer stuff is a bit sh1t in comparison. a few of me mates still love it tho and 1 is a devout trance head that follows the scene all over the country, but im not a fan anymore meself. as said in a post above its more about reminicing nowadays than actually being a fan.

When i said Noboby, i was referring to current trance,
Almost everybody started out listening to Trance, but the current stuff is ****e.
But in saying that, i wouldn't have any interest in listening to the old stuff anymore either.

    I disagree on two points.

Firstly I like trance, but that is because music is subjective and what sounds good to my ear may not sound good to yours. Not only does this apply to different strands of dance it applies to even the same strands, for example within house music there is still going to be debate on who is the best producer/Dj and it will all come back to opinion and what sounds good to an individual.

I like trance right now. I think its in a good place. Others disagree because it has deviated from what it once sounded like but thats because all music develops and adapts to the current point in time rather than allow itself to fizzle out or get stale and repetitive. Trance now may not sound like the trance you used to like but it that doesn't mean that it is not good.

Anyway to OP, looked around for that track, cant seem to find and ID on it on a number of sites so not sure what to do except browse youtube and try and find it. I found a Sean Tyas remix that sounds similar but that was as close as I got.
