I am running the Cork Marathon as part of a team with my OH in June. I am going to do the first leg of 16.9 miles. I want to start a training plan next week. Im not sure what to do though- do I follow a half marathon plan and add to it or cut a marathon plan down?

Would be grateful for any suggestions or ideas.

Its a lot closer to a half than a marathon, closer even than those three extra miles suggest, so no point in training for a marathon. Find a good half program and tack a couple of extra miles onto the long runs. Build up your long runs gradually, a bit extra each week. If you ran a half in training you'd be well fit for 16+ in a race.
