New Opel Astra - Facelifted Leon?

I've seen a few of the new Astra's on the road lately. Nice looking car but very similar to the Seat Leon. I guess kinda like an upmarket or facelifted version.

Anybody else think that they are a rip off of the current Leon?

I would think the leon even looks better

Very similar. I could understand if the Astra was a Golf but dont know why Opel cogged the Leon design so blatantly. No shame .

Holy sh!t. Well spotted alright. Yet another car manufacturer takes a step backwards in design. Wouldn't be surprised if seat was thinking about suing.

The older astra is a much nicer looking car. Always thought the 2 door version was a lovely looking thing.

The outgoing 3 door was nice alright but the 5 door was horrible.

I thought it looked more like a Bravo than a Leon, but the above pictures are fairly compelling evidence!

I delivered a new 1.4i to a customer this week. SRi in white which does look pretty good. Interior layout is so much improved over the old one and the Sports seats are really comfy.

The 1.4i is horrific though. No power at all and is definately one to avoid. 1.4Turbo should be OK. 1.6Turbo didn't feel as quick as the 180bhp suggests it should be when I drove that a couple of months ago.

Though the new one has a better interior.

Seen a lot of the new Astra's the last few days. Wheels make all the difference to them. Of the ones I've seen anything on 16's or 17's look very fat from the back. The end of the back bumper just looks odd. Seen a few nice black ones on 18's and they are sweet enough looking. Interior is good I have to say.

Seen a lot of the facelift Leons lately too. Pre-facelift is a nicer looking bus. The rear lights look cack in the skin. I preferred it to the current one in the publicity shots but not in real life. The Leon is just a blatant copy of the 147 anyway so if you think about it 10 years on and the Alfa is still better looking:D

monaro VXR...
technically its holden... but sold as a vauxhall .....

All you need there is a set of 18 inch alloys, windows tinted & the car lowered a bit &.......actually nah it'd still be bland looking.:D

Looks a bit like the passat cc. The VW is a better looking car though.
