My apps stop working after syncing

Every time I sync my iphone, the apps I've downloading stop working. Turning it off and on again makes no difference, neither does the "hold home button and off button" reboot. If I go into the app store and download a new free app, they all start working again. Anybody have any ideas? I've turned off app syncing. Itunes…

Every time I sync my iphone, the apps I've downloading stop working. Turning it off and on again makes no difference, neither does the "hold home button and off button" reboot. If I go into the app store and download a new free app, they all start working again. Anybody have any ideas? I've turned off app syncing. Itunes version is 9.0.3.15, OS on iphone is 3.1.3. It's the 8gb 3g model. When I launch an app, the screen looks as if it will work for a fraction of a second, then reverts back to the icons with no error message.
