    Hi Boardsers,

I'm going to Morocco this summer with a friend of mine and we would just like some advice and information on Marrakech, Casablanca, Rabat and Tangier which is what we would like to see.

Also would like to do one of those desert tours but there's so many different ones and I'd be worried that there's a lot of illegitimate ones out there or scammers, does anyone know of any legitimate ones but not overly expensive, I'd like to visit the ergs in Merzouga and was thinking of a 2 night, 3 day trip there from Marrakech?

I read most of the previous threads on Morocco on this forum and it really seems split, some love it and some hate it...

So yeah, any help would be much appreciated!!!

    Durham

it is hard to really advise you as you don't say how long you have and what are your enter/exit points.
But in general terms don't bother with Casablanca, it is just a big industrial town, nothing really for the tourist, going there to see the big Hassan II is not worth the effort. If you really need to be in that area Rabat is less than an hour away by train and a much nicer and mellower town.

Regarding the desert you would probably be best waiting until you got there before organising the tour, and remember that Merzouga is actually closer to Fes than to Marrakech, but you can probably travel to Merzouga from one and then on to the other to avoid time lost due to backtracking.
Also the temperatures will be very hot in inland Morocco during the summer.
A good place to get help/advice is on the Trip Advisor Morocco Forum
    Hope that helps
