Hey Shinners congrats on the loss, keep it up!
The weight watchers thread stickied at the top of the forum is generally what ppl use to say how much they've lost each week.

    My journey so far:
    Weight 10th October 2008: 14st 11 eek.gif Size 18
    Weight 3nd March 2010 : 11 st 3 biggrin.gif Size 12-14 (Very nearly size 12! Need to lose 1 or 2 more pounds to fit 12 properly)
    Goal weight: 10 st 0 biggrin.gifeek.gif

Decided to join WW again 3 weeks ago, just for the additional push as I get towards the end.
17/2/10 Actual weight 11st 7 WW weight 11 9.5 (Down 6 pounds from previous WW visit in 2006/2007)
    24/2/10 Actual weight 11st 5 WW weight 11.7.5 (-2 pounds)
    2/3/10 Actual weight 11st 3 WW weight 11.5.5 (-2 pounds)

    Total weight loss 3stone 8............only 1 stone 3 to go :D

    brainyneuron hi thanks for posting!!
I know everyone does announce how they have done on the Weight watchers thread but i noticed that sometimes its hard to know how well everyones done so far rather than just that week and thought it would be good for us to be able to see just how well people have done so far and then how they progress each week!!!

Keep up the good work now!

Thanks girl! Its been a long road but its definitely been worth it! I went out last weekend for my friends birthday and made an effort with my hair/make up etc, and as a result got loads of compliments, both on the night and from the photos I put up on facebook! I looked great, felt great and it showed! My confidence has gone thru the roof and I still have a stone to go :D Not going to let myself get too worried about that though. My original goal date was my birthday in April but I'm loosing it slower than expected (still loosing tho so its all good). My new date is June 3rd ('Gilmore girls' reference :P) so that gives me plenty of time!

Hugs to you xx If I can do it anyone can!
Congrats to both of you , U have inspired me :)

Wow, thank you for that! How are you getting on yourself? If you need any help or support, these boards are great for that! PM me if u ever need to chat!

    Hi everyone!
Can i join in? I don't do weightwatchesr but I am watching my diet and exercising more and I am doing weekly weigh ins but at the moment i'm at a plateau! So it would be so great if I could have this as motivation if that's ok? :)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 93 ✭✭Shinners13

Kimia you are more than welcome to join in the main thread "The weight watchers thread" is where everyone talks about how they are doing and gives everyone encouragement mainly so you should definitely check it out!! Best of luck!! xx

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,668 ✭✭✭brainyneuron

But feel free to post here too!! Welcome Kimia! We all get plateau's from time to time, as long as the weight doesn't go back up again then you'll be fine! You're body is happy with where it is at the moment, and if you need to lose more, it'll happen. Try not to worry too much about it, or push yourself too hard. One step, one day at a time :D xx

Yep had a good day today foodwise. How about you?
Was a little naughty at the weekend as I was home and being home usually involves lots of food being consumed! Totally wasn't that bad tho, could have been a lot worse so its all good. Arrived on Fri and went for coffee with my mum (she wanted to get me out of the house so my sister could study ). So I had a sticky toffee pudding  (Prob a million calories but what the hell you only live once!). Went to the cinema that night with my sis and had half a medium popcorn (+ lots of water-v proud I didn't order a fizzy drink :D) Saturday was grand, ate as normal but didn't drink as much as I usually would (2litres) or go for a walk (we all went to yoga though!). Had desert after dinner on Sunday (apple + plum tart thingy) which was nice but not amazing. Had a few handfuls of microwave popcorn that my sisters were having while we were watching a dvd, but stopped myself from having too much by having an apple :D
All in all it wasn't too bad, I have had a cold all week so haven't gone on as many walks this week as I usually do. I expect I won't lose much if anything this week but thats perfectly ok sometimes. My body need rest and I had a great weekend so its all good :) Am back in the saddle today, went for a walk in the beautiful sunshine this morning, drank enough water and got my 5 fruit/veg portions in.
Sorry for the long post! How are u getting on yourself?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 93 ✭✭Shinners13

Sounds like you had a lovely weekend!
I dont have any sisters so i dont get to do girly nights in with a dvd only with friends!!
The popcorn isnt bad anyways its the best choice for the cinema and even in general its a good snack so dont worry about that at all!!!
I had a good food day today yeah! I hope i lose something this week even a half pound will do me i dont mind once it is going down!
I would love to do the Flora womens mini marathon this year but dont know if i would be fit enough as i am very heavy but i am a member in a gym ( that i havnt gone to in about 6 months lol) so i rang today and i am organising a chat with the trainer in there and i am going to ask her what does she think as in if i try to lose weight and start walking and doing the gym would i be fit enough to walk the marathon and see what she says.
It has gotten to a point for me that i have to lose the weight cos if i walk far i get back ache and everything which is ridiculous for a 24 (well 25 on saturday) year old. I think the mini marathon would be great for pushing me to exercise so i hope she thinks i will be able!
If not then i am determined to lose the weight and do it next year either ways.
I am off to Pportugal tomorrow 4 weeks (6th April) so i am hoping to be down a stone by then (4 lbs to go) i think its do-able!!!
You are doing brilliantly though 50lbs is a huge achievement well done! God you must notice a huge difference in shopping for clothes and everything!

We don't get to do it that often so it was really nice. My older sister lives in Dublin and my younger one lives at home so I get to see them together about once a month. They're heading off travelling to Thailand at the beginning of May lucky things!

Normal Popcorn is fine, high in salt but not too bad. (I love the Perri popcorn-the ones in the blue bags :D) Cinema and microwave popcorn has buckets of salt, and has butter and other things added to it so its not as healthy!

Fingers crossed for u! What day is your weigh in? Mine is Wednesday morning.

Definitely do it!! I did it last year with my mum and it was fantastic fun! And a great achievement too, at that stage I had lost about half of what I needed to lose and had got a bit stuck. Lazy and a bit disheartened I guess. We did the mini marathon and it gave me the push I needed to get back into the exercise and healthy eating. We walked it and it took us about 2 hours. Don't worry about not being fit enough, you can take it in stages and take as many breaks as you want. There were people of all ages, fitness levels and indeed sizes there so it wasn't all teeny skinny people! I'm probably going to do it again this year (depending on when my exams are!) so I might see u there!

Happy birthday!! :D I was the same sure, I was eating waay too much and not really living as such, just existing, I shied away from any social occasions and kind of hid from the world! What kind of life is that like  I would be out of breath after using the stairs!

Thank you! You'll get there don't worry :D I really was mortified and ashamed when I didn't fit into size 16 clothes anymore and had to buy size 18. That was a big wake up call and I realised I had to lose the weight, it had gone too far and I had to change. I am now just about fitting into size 12 jeans I bought a few weeks ago, they were tight when I bought them so am v proud :D I haven't gone and splurged on a new wardrobe yet, I want to get down to my goal weight first!
A lot of people say the face and the bum are the last to change shape (when you gain/lose weight) but all the way along my face has changed loads, recently though its changed a bit dramatically and I have the beginnings of cheekbones! Quite a lot of people have noticed too which is funny :p

Have a fab time in Portugal! Where abouts are u going? Have been to Praia da Rocha a few times (girly package holidays ) and Albufeira town (on family holiday yonks ago!). Am very jealous! You'll definitely get those four pounds off by then! At the rate you're going you'll have those pounds off in 2 or 3 weeks :D

how come no one is posting their weigh ins? Its just like the WW thread above :p

My last weigh in was 137lbs. loss of 0.5lb

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,668 ✭✭✭brainyneuron

Haha I know, blame Shinners for asking questions :p If a mod wants to merge this thread with the WW thread thats no problem. I haven't weighed in yet this week, my weigh in is tomorrow.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 93 ✭✭Shinners13

Haha i know i get carried away with myself!!!
Going to Albufeira cant wait woohoo!!
Ok going to stop talking on this thread now and i will post my results tomorrow night!!Weigh in is after work!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 177 ✭✭Birdster

Hi girls, I just started WW last night. Filled out my tracker today and just totted up my points......37 points today alone and I didn't think I ate much!!!

    So...starting weight 11stone 8lbs, goal weight 10st /3lbs.

    Help!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,668 ✭✭✭brainyneuron

Birdster can I ask how you got to 37 points? What did u eat during the day? What points should you be on? Try not to worry too much about it though, we all have days where we eat a bit much. Try and have 3 healthy meals and a couple of snacks of fruit/seeds etc. Try and have porridge for breakfast, it fills you up and keeps you from snacking on bad foods during the day.

    Went to WW so...

17/2/10 Weight at home 11st 7 WW weight 11 9.5 (Down 6 pounds from previous WW visit in 2006/2007)
    24/2/10 WAH 11st 5 WWW 11.7.5 (-2 pounds)
    3/3/10 WAH 11st 3 WWW 11.5.5 (-2 pounds)
    10/3/10 WAH 11st 3 WWW 11.4 (-1.5 pounds)

Stayed the same on my scales at home but was down 1.5 pounds in weight watchers. Its weird cos there was a consistent 2.5 pound difference between WW and my scales, so I should have been 11st 1.5 at home going by that. Oh well, confused but I'm not going to complain! Was expecting to be up because of the weekend and being sick but had two really good days on Mon and Tues so that helped i'd say! Decided to start the 'Couch to 5K program' (did a small bit this morning). Went for my hour walk as usual but in the middle of it did the jog/walk/jog/walk thing for 20 mins

    Hi Guys
Ive been reading for ages but decided to join in today.
I joined back last week am a gold member and have 7lbs to get back to goal, I know its not a lot but to me it is
Last night at weigh in I lost 1lb expected and wanted more but hey its down
Joined a new class in Kildare and the leader was fantastic I was so pleased as I have struggled with another leader in this area before
Is anyone else from Kildare here ?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 93 ✭✭Shinners13

jakeypooh hi i am from kildare i go to a meeting in clondalkin though its near where i work!
You are a gold member wow well done you im sure you will be back to your goal weight in no time hun!!
how long have you been a gold member?
How much did you have to lose to get your gold card?
Come onto the Weight Watchers Thread theres lots of people on there who will give you great support!
    xx

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 189 ✭✭jakeypooh

Have you ever been to a class in Naas SHinners123?

Im a gold member 12 years now I lost 3stone 10lbs in 1998 and have kept it off till now - I have 6lbs to go to get back to goal

Is the clondalkin meeting good? When I moved to Kildare I found it so hard to find aleader that was good there is one here and she is known for being cruel and harsh - I got the back of her tongue once and never went back to her but I have found a lovely new class to go t onow since last week so feel really positive now xx

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 93 ✭✭Shinners13

jakeypooh id say you should try the meeting in the GAA club on Wednesday nights she is a nice girl she does the meetings on clane on a monday too.
The woman who does it in clondalkin is a lovely lady her name is Mary and she does wednesday evenings and thursday mornings.
Theresa does it in Clondalkin on a tuesday night she is lovely too.
Was it the class in the town hall where you didnt like the leader? i think she actually has her class at the back of the church now? she can be a bit snappy yes but she is actually quite a lady herself she had alot to deal with years ago she lost her daughter when she was quite young im not sure what was wrong with her but it was ww that helped her to deal with her loss and gave her something to work towards.
I just think that she has her own things to deal with in life which probably makes her snappy not that its right but when i was at a meeting where she told us that i really felt for her.
Where did you move from? How are you finding it in Kildare?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 189 ✭✭jakeypooh

    Cool Shinners will do
You were spot on on the leader who was harsh with me but it was in a newbridge class I have to say tho Id never go back after what she said to me
So many people say the same about her its unfortuante
I don't know anything about her personal situation but surely she shouldn't bring it to work, leaders are supposed to be compassionate and motivating
    not judgmental and pass remarkable
I moved down here from Tallaght 6 years ago
Just settling in now, took ages to get used to it

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,897 ✭✭✭Kimia

    Hello ladies! (and men maybe)

So I am still stuck at 10 stone 2, but it's good because i have done nothing but eat for the last week or so! In fact I feel even thinner now that i've stopped the mad eating and started exercising again, isn't that strange!

I really hope that next week i'll be down though. :)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 10,272 ✭✭✭✭Max Power1

Im also from Kildare, originally, but I go to the meeting in Abbey street (thursday usually) as its nearer where i live now.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 93 ✭✭Shinners13

Jakeypooh definitely they are not ment to bring their problems into the class but sure what can we do only find one that suits us!!
I think there will always be some leaders out there who shouldnt have ever become a leader but there is definitely plenty of great ones!
Id say that was a bit of a change for you from tallaght lol!! Naas has come up alot though in the last 6 years so hopefully you are finding it good now!!
Max power god you are doing brilliantly keep it up!!!
    xx

Tracker is fine, Water is fine, Im weighing on ww scales, exercise is fine..
    I just dont know

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,668 ✭✭✭brainyneuron

jakeypooh you're not doing anything wrong! You're still losing weight. 2 lbs in 2 weeks is a healthy weight loss. You've only 7lbs to lose in total, it always goes off slower towards the end! Try not to worry too much about it-the more you worry/stress about the weight the slower it comes off (worked that way for me anyway!)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 189 ✭✭jakeypooh

Thanks I know its just when I read everyones fab 3lbs or 5lbs I wish it was me

I bit the bullet and signed up for mini marathon tonight and a friend is doing it with me so i start training tomorrow!!!
Actuallly loking forward to it now i must say!!
Jakypooh a loss is a loss be happy and positive about the fact that you lost weight it doesnt matter how much it is simply the fact that you lost weight!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,668 ✭✭✭brainyneuron

Is that the Dublin Mini-marathon? I'm doing that one too! Did it last year and it was great fun :D Gorgeous weather too, though a bit too hot! Only walking it though, I'll have finished the C25K by then, but I wouldn't have got up to 10k by June.

Congrats katcha thats a massive loss well done! Shinners how was your week this week?
Am down a pound this week which I just realised pushes my BMI down to 25.8! Am delighted! I know it needs to be at 25 or 24.9 to be considered normal but I'm getting there gradually!

    Starting weight 14 stone 11
    Current weight 11 stone 1
    (Total weight loss 3 stone 10 :eek::D)
    Goal weight 10 stone

Started week 3 of C25K today. Was worried about the 3min jogs and didn't think I was ready for it. Had decided to substitute the long jogs for 2min ones instead but once I got out and saw the weather (gorgeous shunshine!) I decided I'd go for it and I'm def glad I did!

    Hi guys!

I started for the FOURTH time! I am determined this time to keep it up.

    My weigh ins have been:

    16/2/10 - 12st 4lb
    23/2/10 - 12st 1.5lb (-2.5)
    23/2/10 - 11st 11.5lb (-4)
    02/3/10 - 11st 11.5lb (same)
    16/3/10 - 11st 7.5lb (-4)

    THEN!!! Last night!!

    23/3/10 - 11st 9.5lb (+2) :(

I knew I would be up this week... I haven't been well so I haven't been walking as much but I wasn't expecting to be up 2lbs!!! I'm still kind of glad I went though... just really disheartened! :(

I'll have all your heads wrecked over the next week as I kill myself to make back up those 2lbs and more!!! :P
