Its a problem more common than you think. As someone who has suffered this in the past I've looked into it and there seems to be many possible causes but no one really pins it down. Good luck finding the solution and maybe a professional can pin it down for you, but don't bank on it.
    The most common advice is:
    1. Don't eat for 3hrs before you run.
    2. Stay hydrated.
    3. Limit dairy consumption (or cut it out all together) and see if this helps.
    4. Cut down on fibre intake.
I've tried all the advice but I'm still never sure I won't need to head for the bushes so I try plan my routes, and your right it can be very inconvient.:(

+1 on the diet advice , this only effects me on odd evening runs and only if I have a high protein content for lunch , maybe be slower to digest , not sure .
Hydration from early in the day is also important .
    Would add a number 5 - Carry 3-4 baby wipes - Invalueable .

However some of these dietitians give everything as their speciality. If you pm me will give you an e-mail of someone who might point you in the right direction re the most experienced in that area unless someone here has direct experience.

They always start by telling you to keep a food diary and I guess if you posted here (asking for trouble) you probably would have a lot of people who might give an opinion:eek:

Many thanks for the replies, glad to hear I'm not alone.
@ Gerard, i wasn't aware that dairy might have an impact - am a big yogurt & cheese fan, definatly food for thought, excuse the pun :)
    Shaungil will pm you
