Hi! I was just wondering what the timetable for Pre-Med(and 1st, 2nd year etc.) is like? I'm in 5th year but would love to study medicine in NUIG.

    Many thanks!

Hey, im in premed in NUIG at the moment!...It's brilliant and best of luck with your application!!!....the timetable is basically 1st year science with three hour long lectures in each of biology, chemistry and physics per week + lab work. You also have an introduction to medicine module studying early patient contact in the first semester ( you get to go around the hospital and talk to patients) and Anatomy in the second semester! You will have at most four hours a day and about 20 hours per week although really you can get away with dodging the lectures you have done for the LC! Really the only interesting part of the year is the introduction to medicine module and the year is more about making friends and having a good time before you're hit with the heavy workload of first year medicine. Not sure of the exact hours they have but usually the're in college from 8 until 6 with a few hour long breaks in between. I've heard first semester in first year is one of the most difficult you will ever do, but they all seem to enjoy it at the same time! Thats all i can think off for now! :D

As a second year student, I can say that that really isn't all that true. It gets worse as you move up along really.

The best advice I can give the OP is to just concentrate on the LC and the HPAT for the time being and worry about medicine when you're doing it.
