Downconverter Power?

    Hi,

I'm going tearing out a cupboard where my chorus stb is kept. I want to disconnect it and move it to keep it from getting damaged.

Should I unplug the power feeding the aerial before unscrewing the cable from the back of the stb? Will I blow the downconverter if I don't?

Also, does it matter how long the box is left unplugged?

    Complete noob to these matters.

    Thanks in advance.

You should ALWAYS unplug stuff from the mains before attaching or removing cables, for safety's sake. So yes, do unplug it.
