    Hey

The OH was just on the phone to her phone provider about cancelling her contract. She wants to move to another network and her contract is up on April 6th. She was just told that she'll have to go to this other network on monday and speak with them as it will take 28 days to port over her number.

Surely that will mean she will be billed by both networks for the next month? Is that normal practice? Surely it cant be the case.

No. she can give 30 days notice with her current provider continue to use her current phone for the next 30 days. Then go to her men provider and port her number over. This should take no more that 2 hours and her current account will be closed
