    Hello,

I have a drain running down the side passage of the house, dont know what type it is, there is a roughly a 2ft square manhole in the back garden and the same type in the front garden pipe runs a straight line between them.

The manhole in the front garden is in its own little concrete island in the grass to the side of the driveway, anyway there has always been a little dip in the grass on one side of the manhole along the line of the pipe.
Just noticed the other evening that there is now a hole in the ground in the centre of the dip around the size of a tennis ball in diameter, it nearly looks like a burrow except it goes straight down. The dip is also more pronounced than usual.

Is it possibe that there is a hole in or damage to the pipe below that is causing this? If so who would i need to get in contact with to have it check/fixed? Would I just need to get a builder or is it a council issue?

    Thanks,

    Stephen
