Yesterday I turned on my PS3 and was met with a blank screen and no sound however it was running and I could put games in. I plugged in and out my HDMI cable a few times, held the on button for the second beep and nothing worked. Switched to AV cables and it worked grand. Presuming it was the cable's fault I bought a new one but I still have the problem. Has anyone experienced this problem or do they know a way I can find out if it's the PS3 or the TV. I have no other hd devices to test. It has been working fine for the last year and a half...

Try holding in the power button again because your PS3 is not set to HDMI output

power off both your ps3 and your TV (plug them out form the wall and leave them for a minute)

They've been off all night but I tried it anyway but nothing.

Do you hear the PS3 beep when you help the power button down? This means that the video settings are resetting to default, and it should work after that. This is what i have to do when i changed from HD to a scart cable.
