Lovely experience of being directly below an unidentified Hercules on final approach to Casement,Baldonnell this afternoon (14.30 approx)

Flat grey with no obvious identifiers.....any info stirring I wonder :)

Men, it has been well said, think in herds; it will be seen that they go mad in herds, while they only recover their senses slowly, and one by one.

It was US Marine Corps KC-130T-30 164598/QH with callsign "Ranger 77". This one has visited Baldonnel at least twice before, on 03/07/2009 and 17/05/2002.

photos taken as it crossed over Belgard Heights in Tallaght on finals ...

I was wondering what the hell that was. Very strange looking, pretty low and slow moving too.

thats why there used for aid drops and oil spill ops knew a few lads that flew the aul herc, one of them on old USAF capt said to me one evening while having a drink, that he had a chance to fly a b747 but chose to stick with the herc and cruise along.
