    Hi all

I have my htc touch hd up for auction at the moment on ebay and the other day someone contacted me asking if it was genuine (i.e not a chinese copy) so I replied explaining it wasnt and showing pictures etcera.

I had a look at this guys profile and he has 29 rep 100% but he hasnt done anything with ebay since 08 which sort of set some alarm bells off. Got another msg of him this morning saying that he lives in Lithuania (his profile says United States) and would it be possible to ship it there that he would cover shipping costs.

Should I go ahead with this? Won't cost me extra to ship there and aslong as he pays through paypal I should be ok?

Just a bit worried about this one as have only sold 8~ or so items on ebay and havent come accross any risky situations

Could be the same scam as this one

Could be funded from a hacked PayPal account then PayPal will take the money back from the seller check my link above.

Just to be safe I told him I didn't offer shipping to Lithuania (I had it in my exclusions list anyway), better safe than sorry :D

    Thanks

My guess its a hacked account that uses the same password for eBay and PayPal.

If you wanted to check a bit further you could check out the location of all the sellers that that account has bought from and see were they are located, if they are all US based and some only deliever to the US then the account owner probably lives in the US and not Lithuania

I'd stay well clear OP. My advice is if you have even the smallest doubt about a buyer / seller stay clear.

I would say it's definitely a hacked account. Look at that feedback, and check out all the sellers. They're all US based. Couple that with the account's registration is US too, and it's likely to be a US person.

There is a slim chance that this is someone who moved in the last year, of course, but an long time inactive account trying to buy something from outside their normal area, does look very dodgy.

Although it sounds like a scam, I would do it but only accept payment by bank transfer or Western Union. This way, you have the money for sure (and send the phone once the cash is in your hands)

100% scam, just ship it to the address supplied by PayPal it's not that complicated.
