Anyone have any nice suggestions of cheap things to do in Dublin, either with the missus or just with friends. Not a big day out kind of thing, just something to replace the usual sit at home and watch TV on a Sunday afternoon...

Dart - museums, galleries, beaches, parks, wildlife followed by a feast for about 20 Euro each in M&L Chinese. There's a few Sundays filled in for you.

It's only €6 into Kilmainham Gaol. Then across the road you have IMMA which is free. Then you could head over to Phoenix Park for a walk and to look at the deer. That's a lovely way to spend a couple of hours.

Or you could get a Dart to Howth and go for a walk. Or a Dart out to Killiney Hill for a walk there.

Head into Trinity and have a look at the book of Kells and the long hall library, then head up to the national museaums ... next down to temple bar market for a spot of lunch ... over to guiness store house for a cool tour and nice pint .. then onto the liffey tour boat thing .... then finish with a zaytoon kebab and into a pub for a few drinks.

Theres a nice day out for less than the cost of your average night out.

That's over €50! Nice and all as they are, I think the Long Room and Guinness Storehouse are overpriced.

OP, the Chester Beatty Library in Dublin Castle is one of the best museums in Dublin, IMO, and is free.

Wrap up well, climb the sufarloaf, it's only a hill, find a nice spot with a good view, check out Dublin bay, open your Star Wars flask and have some hot soup. Do your descent over the scree if you are feel like some fun. On the way back head to the pigeon house, walk to the lighthouse and admire where you just climbed.

We're both in college in Trinity, so the last thing we want to do on a Sunday is go into college :p

Some nice ideas there alright, IMMA & the Gaol is definitely a goer anyway :)

Go for a cycle along Dublin bay out to Howth or else out to Dalkey

Farmleigh in Phoenix park has lovely grounds for a walk. You can also do a tour of the house. They have a market once a month where you can get a coffee and a nice cake without spending a fortune!

The zoo! Or turn up in the Phoenix Park and ask to join a football match which is taking place even if it's 8 people kicking a ball around

Head to Bray and walk along the cliff top walk from Bray to Greystones-beautiful views! On a sunny day, you can see all the way to Wales.

Mondello, wrap up warm, better see if there is anything on 1st,
dress up nice and go to hotels in wicklow for a coffee, while there u can do the sugar loaf, go to druid glen, powercourt waterfall and powercourt itself is huge. blessinton, up to the guiness lakes.. pack some sambo, or a disposable grill.
Mount Usher gardens. take the R761 from Bray or greystones, or comeback that way dont just go up and down on that stinking N11.
at the moment they are doing good day return deals on trains, hit belfast, sligo, galway, but make sure u know what you are doing before u go ,there are free festivals on you just need to know how to use the internet to find out whats on where. ive been to the Rory Gallagher festival in Ballyshannon a few times, its free (10euro camping) there stuff like that on nearly every fortnight somewhere in the country,
always wanted to do the entire wicklow way.
2nd and 3rd July 2010 skerries road race.
