Diplexer?

In our house we have NTL and are now installing a freesat dish. However there is only one coax cable running from the attic to the sitting room. I've been told I need a pair of diplexers to send both signals down the same cable and separate them at the end.
I had a look in B&Q earlier today but got a little confused. One product, which was labelled as a diplexer, was made of plastic, had the standard TV cable style connectors, and had the ends labelled TV and FM.
The other product (I think it was labelled splitter/combiner) definitely didn't mention diplexer at all, was made of solid metal, and had screw in connectors, but the description on the back seemed to match up to what I was looking for.

Which one do I go for?

Sometimes can be referenced as a TV/Sat diplexer, or VHF+UHF/Satellite Diplexer.

Image give an idea, though they don't necessarily have the weatherproof box.

Splitter/combiner is the same thing. You need one at each end. Cable run needs to be sat quality or you will lose the signal. Try sending the sat signal down the cable before you commit. If it works, get the splitters, if it does not, rerun the cable with good quality sat stuff.

Global do a set and Triax do a set, both can be marked as diplexers or multiplexers, available online

you could also use a sat/tv combiner & a diplexed outplate for a neater finish, links for reference.
