15 of us due to play Royal Tara this Sat early. Got a call from club today to say tht there is frost forcast Fri night Sat morning and tht if it is frosty they wil open on temp greens( policy in RT is if it opens on temps it stays on temps all day(apart from the yellow9).

Just like to know if anyone played RT on temp greens before and if its worth heading out if its frosty?

Its a nice course and you'll only be playing on 9 temporary greens, so I would go for it.

    They also do amazing food.

I'm happy to get out Dec - March on a frosted course, guess it's a matter of opinion but in some courses temp greens can be just as enjoyable.

I'll admit there are the odd few courses where temp greens are like putting on gravel.. But in general I'm glad there are a lot of courses open with temp greens, otherwise winter golf would just be one long season of course closures...

Looks like the anti frost prayers where answered by the "golf gods"

Went out yesterday morning and not a hint of frost :D What a morning for golf and RT played beautifully...........not a temp green used:cool:.

Mind you after seeing the temp greens tht they would have used if it was frosty I can 100% confirm tht I will never play on a course tht offers temp greens, would totally ruin the round imo.

Ended up with 35 point :) but beat by 3points:mad:

    "Happy golfing all"
