    Its interesting because it shows just how dangerous script kiddies can be. I remember beign shown a framework where you selected your game of choice (pong, tetris etc) and your preferred actions (log pc details, keyboard logging, remote shell) and it compiled a nice little trojan package for you. I remember thinking "wow, thats cool in a dangerous sort of way" and now we have bot management and creation software available for download.

    With the publicity this is receiving, I'm sure we can expect more variants of mariposa to appear and, unfortunately, a wider audience willing to buy and use them.

    Its incredible the size of it! Imagine the DDOS attack that could be done with over 12 million pc's!

    I thought the exact same thing when I first see the Metasploit framework I do wonder sometimes if tools like this should be in the public domain. I think they do more damage than good.
