Check how much they are charging for delivery. With Amazon you get free delivery and my Garmin was shipped from Dublin so it was deliverd overnight.

You didn't mention the price. Did you take a look at the Irish site - sub4.ie? They have it for €299 including HRM.

eBay has it from a Belgium seller, for €225/€250 (without/with HRM) including P&P.
These all seem like great prices in comparison to the 405.

I bought from Israel on ebay, 100% feedback good seller no problems, got it for 215 sterling with the hrm including delivery.

    search for saritbd77 on ebay.

Be careful with them they are very easily cracked!

I bought mine from a bricks 'n'mortar irish shop. When it when tits up (and early 310xts did alot) I went back to the shop and they just swapped it for another one. Worth the extra few bob imho.

I tried buying it on Amazon but it kept coming up that they couldn't ship it to my selected destination, ie Ireland.

Hi Krusty, total including shipping from Handtec was approx €270.
I saw it on ebay being sold by the Belgian seller, but am never too keen from buying expensive items from ebay.

That's a good price catweazle. I don't really like buying expensive stuff from ebay though. Has it given you any trouble since you bought it?

Ya but it was my own fault, dropped it on floor, glass cracked at front (I couldnt believe it when I picked it up off the floor and saw the crack, it literally fell maybe 2 feet max, so be careful). I have a 20 miler this weekend and I am lost without it, its a real handy piece of gear

Its over in Garmin Europe at the moment, in fairness to them i didnt think they would cover it under warrenty but it a was painless enough process. Should have it back early next week they tell me.

I wouldnt worry about buying expensive stuff from ebay, make sure their is paypal protection on it though.

I got screwed over a long time back on a used bike i bought for 600 sterling, it never arrived and the seller vanished from the earth with my money, I got my money back from paypal very quickly with little hassle. Was lucky in a way I bagged a far better bike for 50 less the following week

Tunny has a point in going local too but price here was the main issue with me

If the seller is actually Amazon then they should ship here no problem, if it is a marketplace seller then usually they won't.

Handtec are reputable. Recently got a Garmin Edge 705 from them and it was delivered within 2 days. Delivery is expensive though. However, to avoid delivery cost from handtec, try Chain Reactions Cycles.

    With HRM: http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=44092
    Without HRM: http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=44091

Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click "Request a Price Match". Fill in the details of the equivalent item on handtec. They will usually match the price & free delivery.

I agree with tunney on buying local and I would pay a few quid extra to buy from an LBS - but only up to a point. If CRC match the price, you can get 310XT without HRM for under €250. A well known bike shop in Dublin is currently looking for €370 for same. That's a fair wedge to pay out to justify easier returns. I got my original 310XT from Wiggle and when the GPS receiver packed in, I returned it and got a new one within a week. And they paid for my postage. Maybe for some people an extra €120 is worth it so they aren't stuck without it for a week or two, but not for me.

I went back and had a look. I was trying to buy from a marketplace seller.
Amazon don't seem to be selling it themselves.

Thanks Madhatter, I've just followed your advice, waiting to hear back from them now.
