What clips & straps?

Don't like the stock pedals, clips & straps on my new bike, so I'm looking them to replace them. I'm thinking of getting some MKS Sylvan Track Pedals, but have no idea which clips & straps to get along with them. My research is making me think that double straps are the way to go, as it gives better foot retention, and leverage (I'm riding fixed-gear).

I don't want to get clipless pedals just yet, as this bike's just for cycling in and out of town.

Any suggestions of clips & straps? Preferably if I could get both for under €50.

I'd advise asking over on dublinfgss.com, it's where i get all my fixed gear related advice.
If you're not registered you may have to wait a few days as the mod (flickerx) is away atm.

Yep, did that ages ago. I've been on LFGSS in the meantime, but most over there are either using clips, or trick style straps this kind of this. Clips & straps aren't really fixed-gear specific, just looking for some recommendations on good road clips & straps. I assume not everyone uses clipless?

Sounds unlike him, i sent him a pm here and was on in a couple hours.

Unfortunately i am of no help on the clips front, i went straight to clipless. bit of a PITA for just a run around but i love the feeling of security over the pedal, anyway if you do buy let me know how you get on, i'm thinking clips and straps will be necessary for my next build

Will do, if/when I finish a build I'm planning (just need a frame) I think I'll put clipless on my current bike, and use the other as a runaround, so I'll probably back for clipless advice anyway!

oh yeah if your getting rid of the stock pedals im in desperate need of some!

oh and i use power straps, love them cause ther easy to get into and say in polo when i fall over my feet come out where as when i used cages and straps id be in bits with the bike stuck to me.probably not what you want though

I was looking at something like Powerstraps, or Hold Fast straps alright, but how suited are they for just road riding, like not polo or tricks?

Well anything I'm taking off this bike I'm saving for my next build, so I won't be selling them, sorry.

You're talking about these yeah? Might try them out actually, I've never really liked clips & straps, even on my freewheel racer. They fit to any pedal right? And is that price for a pair?

Like the look of these even moreso than the Powergrips, and they seem to be getting better reviews. Might give them a try.
