Grass Running - A novice question?

    Hi Folks

I'm a novice runner following a 10k program. I invested in a suitable pair of shoes (New Balance MR1225BR) a while ago and am having no problems running on the roads.

However, with the daylight starting to stretch, i'm thinking of doing a portion of my running on grass.

My question is - Do I need to buy a different pair of runners for grass and keep my current ones for the roads? Or will my current pair suit both?

As long as 'grass' means 'parks, lawns, road verges' and not 'churned up muddy hill trails', your current runners should be fine.

Oh, and if your runners do get muddy, don't put them in a washing machine.

    tks RayCun

well it will be the xc route at the Battle of the Boyne site. But I plan to run it from April on, when the ground will be harder out there......fingers crossed!

I don't plan to be run in the squelching mud, so I should be ok. right?

I ran it during last weekend Ras NahEireann. It's absolutely brilliant place for a run. There are a few circuits you can do ranging from just over a mile to a 4 mile circuit. I plan to do as much of my marathon prep up there as possible
