    hello to all
    only recently got my hands on a second hand fluke 1653 great tester but its eating batterys in the mater of a few days .checked it a few time put new batts in turned it on for a few mins then off tried it three days later batts to flat to let it turn on anyone else had and probs like this i have other fluke stuff and its great i have a t5 with the same battery for about five years
    any sugestion on repairs??where to go

    the 1653 is a great tester but they are battery guzzlers nothin to wat you seem to be experiencing tho we usually 4-5 houses from ours but that mite be over a long period. if u were continuously meggering long runs at high voltages that mite be your problem

    Perhaps you should consider using rechargeable batteries.

    cant use rechargable batteries as they only output 1.2v per cell and you need 6 aa batteries to operate so you will only have 7.2v as opposed to 9v. and it will show a low battery.

    i think it takes the 1.2v ni-mh
