Hi , i am currently looking at buying a car (private sale) at the moment. I did the cartell check and it is currently down as COMPANY in the owner category. (Company not Comercial)
What are the VRT implications in buying this car if i was to do so and have it down as private ownership.
The motor tax category is currently down as private though.

If the car is already registered here, the issue of VRT does not arise. Why would you think that it does?

Indeed, also the car is a car so will be taxed privately, the fact it's owned by a company does not make it a commercial.

Ok so am i right in saying the VRT when it was registered first day is the same regardless whether it was used Company,Private, Comercial.
I thought there might have been issues if the car was changed from company to private and i'd have the revenue chasing after me. The motor tax is the same also.
