Hey, just started a part time job last month(currently a student) and noticed that im due emergency tax. I was told to go to revenue.ie to get contact details for the dublin area where i work, that was fine but when I rang they was an automated telephone thingy saying "Due to industrial action we can't do anything!" Anybody know what I can do? Many Thanks

Have you sorted out your emergency tax yet? If not, get a Form 12A. To claim emergency tax back you need a Form P21.

Revenue aren't answering during the afternoon afaik, could be the morning. Work to rule action being taken at the moment.

12A gets you your tax credits, basically stops you paying emergency tax and get you want tax you should be paying.

P21 is a tax refund form, very simple to fill out.

Both forms should be available from Revenue offices. Probably available to print online, give google a shot.

OP, if you are still in that job and only started it in 2010, you will not need to fill out form P21 as your refund should be paid to you by your employer once your tax credits have been processed
